    • Reference Materials: In Library use only; 3 hour class loans;
    • Renewals via email, phone or in-person; dependent on whether materials have a wait-list.

Renewals

Most loan periods are 14 days. However, students, alumni, faculty and staff are able to renew loaned materials provided there is not a wait-list on the material. In order to renew, they can email, telephone or make an in-person visit to the libraries. Renewal periods are also in 14 day increments.

Overdue Materials

Any materials held over their period of loan – without renewals – are considered overdue. Overdue materials may incur a fine of up to $0.25 per day up to the value of the materials borrowed.

All patrons in possession of excessively overdue materials will be referred to the College Registrar.

Course Reserves

The EIC Libraries have established a course reserve shelf in both campus libraries. Primarily consisting of non-circulating textbooks for most of the courses at EIC and instructor materials as requested.  Students, alumni, faculty and staff are permitted to use these materials in the library.

In certain cases, the textbooks may be loaned for a period of no more than 3 hours for use in classes either students or instructors.

Instructor copies of materials can be checked out for the semester by all faculty members.

Audiovisual Materials

The Eastern International College Libraries maintain a small but pertinent collection of audiovisual materials for classroom use at both campuses.  Because of the product’s specific nature and limited vendor list, most materials are very expensive.  It is the Libraries policy to purchase one copy of relevant materials and share them between campuses.

The lending policy for all audiovisual materials is that materials may be borrowed for  1 week. Preference is given to instructors screening the materials in class.  Students wishing to review audiovisual materials can do so in the library.  They are not available for students to check out from the library.

Only 1 DVD may be loaned at one time to a single instructor.
