Study Title: 2016-2017 Status of Program Assessment (SPA)
Unit of Analysis: Academic Program/Department Chairs

Study Purpose: All Department Chairs are responsible for leading (or co-leading) the curricular assessment of their academic programs. The SPA survey is a focused, baseline, self-study designed to “assess the assessment process” to obtain current program-specific data from Department Chairs to document and measure the strengths and potential vulnerabilities of each academic program’s key assessment activities – and address any program-related assessment challenges that lie ahead in their continuous program improvement efforts. In a partnership between each program and the OIEPA, SPA outcomes will help plan for the next round of program assessment activities. In addition, in the future, baseline data from this survey will be compared to parallel program-level data to be obtained next AY to document strides made by EIC faculty related to continuous program improvement.

Start and End Dates: A semi-structured survey was first opened (i.e., administered online) on Monday May 22, 2017 and will be closed on or before Friday, June 9, 2017.

Deliverables: A full report will be provided to EIC’s Executive Administration and Program Chairs in late June 2017. A PowerPoint slideshow of key outcomes will be available to view in this section of the OIEPA’s website in mid-June 2017.
